Photographs

Like information presented in analogue audio formats, printed photographs are subject to degradation - curling, fading, yellowing, dust and tearing.

Old photographs require special handling in order to preserve the originals during the digitisation process. Paper and inks react in different ways, and so great care should be taken in the scanning process.
